Hands on learning with manipulatives is very effective in teaching. LBS has a set curriculum with learning themes and each teacher has the freedom to create their own lesson plans using those themes. Manipulatives are used to let children think, problem-solve, and make things happen while they are working towards a solution.
Hands-on projects engage kids who are tactile or kinesthetic learners, who need movement to learn best. They also engage students who are auditory learners, who talk about what they’re doing, and visual learners who have the opportunity to see what everyone else has created.
